Access
Carers tickets
In line with best practice in the visitor attractions industry, visitors with disabilities are treated on an equal basis with all other visitors and entry is charged at the appropriate admission category rate - Adult/Concession/Child. Proof of disability is not required.
We recognise that some disabled visitors may need help to visit our sites and we offer free entry for accompanying carers, these can be added when making your booking. Please note this is limited to two carers per transaction.
Parking
The level tarmac car park has accessible bays marked.
Approach to site
The distillery is 60m along a level tarmac and paved path.
Visitor centre
The visitor centre has step-free access.
Monument
The ground floor is generally level, with some raised thresholds.
It houses the:
- malting floor
- kiln
- mash house
- yeast room
- still house
- receiver room
- warehouse
Some areas in these rooms are only accessible up steps.
The barley loft on the first floor is reached via a set of 14 timber steps (with handrails). They are open risers.
Special features
There is an audio-visual presentation with induction loop. Audio guides can be borrowed free of charge. Due to availability audio guides are not available for large groups.
Toilets
An adapted toilet is next to the visitor centre.
Dogs
Assistance dogs are permitted at all our sites and within roofed areas.
Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times and not left unattended at any time. Owners must pick up after their dogs.
Visitors' dogs are not permitted at Dallas Dhu Historic Distillery.
