Our sites sometimes need to close at short notice due to adverse weather, essential maintenance work, and other reasons outwith our control.
We advise checking ahead if the forecast is poor or you are making a long journey. Short-term closures are listed below. If you have an urgent enquiry related to a site closure and your booking over the weekend or a bank holiday please contact the ticketing team.
Dunblane Cathedral, Glasgow Cathedral and parts of Dunfermline Abbey and Palace are working churches and opening hours may vary due to private services and events. Please check their site information for details of these closures. Any closures due to weather and maintenance works will continue to be listed on this page.
Restricted access Bonawe Historic Iron Furnace
The buildings and visitor facilities will be closed on Monday 22 and Thursday 25 June but it will still be possible to explore the grounds.
Closed Spynie Palace
The palace will be closed on Monday 22 June
Closed Broch of Gurness
The visitor centre will be closed on Monday 22, Tuesday 23 and Friday 26 June. The rest of the site remains accessible.
Closed Dundonald Castle
The castle will be closed on Monday 22 and Tuesday 23 June.
Closed Seton Collegiate Church
The church will be closed on Friday 26 June.
Change to opening times Edinburgh Castle
The castle will open at the later time of 11am on Saturday 27 June.
