In November 2014, Historic Scotland and the Royal Commission on Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland (RCAHMS) conducted research to find out how key partners and stakeholders viewed our work.
The research was carried out by TNS. It surveyed Historic Scotland members, representatives of organisations in the public and private sectors, and individuals with regular dealings with each organisation.
Areas covered included:
- engagement – awareness of the organisations, their role, frequency of dealings
- reputation – favourability of opinion, trust, success and quality of services
- performance – rating the organisations against key areas
- communication – how stakeholders find out about the organisations and use their websites
The survey indicated that there is strong public support for conserving and maintaining Scotland’s built heritage. Both agencies were generally viewed positively by the stakeholders surveyed.
