Read the results of the 2016 Civil Service People Survey for Historic Environment Scotland.

2016 survey results

The response rate to the 2016 survey was 62%, up 9% on last year, with an increase in the number of paper surveys received.

The overall positive engagement score this year was 61% – an increase of 1% from last year's survey.

Employee engagement is shaped by experience at work and is measured by nine key themes: My Work; Organisational Objectives and Purpose; My Manager; My Team; Learning and Development; Inclusion and Fair Treatment; Resources and Workload; Pay and Benefits and Leadership and Managing Change.

Six of the nine key themes in the survey have seen growth and there has been a 1% reduction in the theme, 'My Team' which this year at 76% still remains relatively high. The biggest growth was seen in the ‘Organisational Objectives and Purpose’ theme which is up by 9% to 77%.

Overall, this year’s survey has seen a positive development in our results and this provides a basis for discussions about the areas where we may wish to focus on moving forward.
