Due to access restrictions in place as a precautionary measure while we undertake high level masonry inspections, there is currently no visitor access to the castle. Find out more about our conservation work
If you are visiting the town of Lochmaben please drop by the Heritage Centre, which can be found at Lochmaben Town Hall and is open Monday to Friday, 2pm to 4pm. The centre is run by Lochmaben Heritage Community Trust, and has a small exhibition where you can learn more about Lochmaben Castle's history. There is also an Art Gallery with featured works by members of the Hightae Art Group. Head to VisitScotland to plan your visit to Lochmaben.
