Enter one of the finest medieval collegiate churches in Scotland.

Seton is one of the finest medieval collegiate churches to survive in Scotland. Collegiate churches are so called because they housed a college, or community, of priests. The religious leaders would be brought together by the local landowner to pray for his and his family’s salvation.

A stone panel, with stone brick around the outside. In the centre, there is a heraldic carving in the centre.
Large stained glass window in an arch shape. The wall surrounding it is made of stone.
A weathered stone memorial. There are coloured curved columns around the outside, much of the memorial has deteriorated however. There are specks of fragmented light on the wall.
Aerial view of a building, vaguely in a T shape. There are different types of roofs. It sits on a grass landscape, with trees surrounding it.

You can see the fine stonework – particularly the sedilia (priests’ seats) and piscina (basin for rinsing the sacred vessels)

Or visit the priests’ domestic quarters, a rare survival, to see how the six religious men lived.

If it's mindfulness you're after, then walk among the trees that surround the church and enjoy the peaceful, pretty setting.

Two people smiling and facing eachother. One wears a wedding dress, while the other person is wearing a lot of tartan. They are in a church with large stained glass windows, and seats are set up formally.
