The castle is currently closed for vital conservation work, but visitors can walk up to and around the exterior of the castle to enjoy views of Loch Awe and the surrounding landscapes.

How to get here

At the north east end of Loch Awe, 2.5 miles west of Dalmally off the A85. There is no vehicular access or parking and the castle is not signposted.

The castle is reached from the roadside under the nearby railway viaduct. Access is over agricultural land via the loch-side, which floods periodically, so caution is advised. Strong footwear recommended.
