The Dwarfie Stane is free to visit and is open year-round.

Accessibility

Visitors will need to crouch or crawl to enter the tomb. Strong footwear is recommended. 

How to get here

To visit the Dwarfie Stane you can take the car ferry from Houton to Lyness and drive to the roadside parking near the site.

You can also travel as a foot passenger from Stromness to Moaness and walk about 2.5 miles along the minor road toward Rackwick to reach the path leading to the monument.
