157 miles to the north of Orkney, Shetland is home to 100 breath-taking islands of which 15 are inhabited. Escape to the tranquil group of isles and explore Jarlshof, a prehistoric settlement built over 4000 years ago and walk the massive walls of Fort Charlotte in the harbour of Lerwick.

Scotland’s Coasts, a new exhibition drawn from the Historic Environment Scotland archives, will open at Shetland Museums and Archive in late February.
