Huntly Castle

The Gordons of Huntly fought for hundreds of years for the Stuart kings of Scotland, in the mid-17th century; the castle is destroyed. Huntly loses his head and 3 of his sons die fighting for the king.

Visit these spectacular ruins and hear about the Gordon’s story. Meet some of the royalist defenders of the castle in 1647 and see the weapons.
