Weddings are currently available in the grounds of Caerlaverock Castle.
There is currently no access to the castle, due to access restrictions in place as a precautionary measure while we undertake high level masonry inspections. Find out more about our conservation work.
Caerlaverock Castle is suitable for:

Fairytales are made of castles like Caerlaverock. This model medieval stronghold comes complete with twin-towered gatehouse, lofty battlements and wide moat. Crossing the bridge to reach your wedding ceremony will be just one of many special moments to cherish from your big day.
Great Hall (open air)
Capacity: 60 people
Get married in a setting straight out of a storybook. Caerlaverock Castle comes complete with a moat, which the Great Hall overlooks. There are no dragons to speak of – though the wetlands nature reserve visible from here is a haven for dragonflies. The Great Hall is an open air venue on the ground floor of the castle’s south range.

You can hire Caerlaverock Castle just for your wedding photographs, even if your ceremony will be held elsewhere.
