History

Ardunie Signal Station, near Auchterarder, is a Roman station dating to the late first century AD. It forms part of the Roman military system now known as the Gask Ridge frontier.

The Gask Ridge is regarded as the earliest Roman example of a frontier system of forts, roads and watchtowers. It stretches for 37km from Glenbank to Bertha on the Tay.
