Due to the current heightened level of national security we would like to make visitors to Edinburgh and Stirling Castles aware that we are currently operating random bag searches. Please note this may result in longer waiting times for entry, and we would like to thank visitors in advance for their patience and understanding. It is important to state that this measure does not relate to any specific threat, but is rather part of our ongoing approach to the management and provision of a safe and secure site for our staff and visitors. We also do not have the facilities to store a range of personal items (e.g. luggage & prams). In addition, we will NOT accept any suitcases or rucksacks over 30L into the site.
