Discover the only remaining fragment of the medieval parish church of Edzell, situated in a sleepy rural graveyard.
The Lindsay Burial Aisle was built in about 1550 as a chantry chapel, where Mass was sung for the dead. It was later adopted as a burial place for the Lindsays of nearby Edzell Castle.
Only the aisle survived the demolition of the old church in 1818, when a new kirk was built in the village of Edzell.
