A one-day conference dedicated to celebrating Scotland’s extraordinarily rich industrial heritage.
Speakers from across the heritage sector will talk about how they became involved with industrial heritage, why it is so important to Scotland, the extent of its global reach, and why it is such a crucial part of our future.
The programme includes industrial historians and engineers, and speakers from our industrial museums, business archives, universities, the National Trust for Scotland, and from Historic Environment Scotland.
Topics covered include iconic industries such as iron, coal, shipbuilding, railways and textiles, and in the afternoon will move on to discuss management issues such as industrial collections, recording, statutory protection, regeneration and the promotion of STEM subjects, finishing with a journey into the world of 3D digital documentation.
The event is designed to appeal to a wide audience, ranging from professionals to anyone interested in finding out more about our extraordinary industrial past. All are welcome.
