Hear the thunder of hooves and the clashing of lances as Linlithgow Palace hosts our annual jousting tournament. Watch as noble knights battle it out to be crowned champion.

Don’t forget you can join Historic Scotland in advance to gain free entry or buy your event tickets in advance to save 10% (offer available until Friday 29th June).

Our Spectacular Jousting event is also on at Caerlaverock Castle on 28 and 29 July 2018.

Getting there: Public transport is available to Linlithgow and the palace is a 10min walk from the train station. Linlithgow can also be accessed by various bus routes from across the central belt.

Parking: There are three car parks all with shuttle buses available (there is a short walk from 2 of the car parks to the shuttle buses). To reach the car park area, from the West take junction 4 off the M9 and from the East take junction 3. From the West visitors will drive through Linlithgow town centre, turning left beside the Oracle Car Park. From the East, turn right beside the Oracle car park. Staff will be there to guide visitors. Parking is on a first come first served basis. Yellow AA signage will be in place.

First joust time: Please allow plenty of time to enter the palace and peel so you don’t miss any of the jousting action! The first joust is at 1.30pm but the fun starts at 12.30pm across the peel.

Historic Scotland Members: Please have your membership cards ready to scan as this will speed up waiting times.

Prepaid tickets: If you have prepaid tickets please have the print out ready to scan.

Limited catering facilities will be available, so don’t miss any of the action and bring a picnic to enjoy on the Peel.
