Find out about the people who lived and worked in the Park from 7 thousand years ago up until the present day and learn more about the rare wildlife that makes the Park so special.

  • Meeting place: Holyrood Park Information Centre, 2 Horse Wynd, Edinburgh, EH8 8AZ
  • Grade: Strenuous.
  • Route: contains rough tracks, uneven and boggy terrain, steep inclines and declines. Route may not suitable for disabled people, please contact the Ranger Service for more information
  • Age: This walk may not be suitable for children under 12 years
  • What to Bring: Warm, waterproof clothing and sturdy footwear with good grips. A snack and a drink
  • Toilets: are available at the Holyrood Park Education Centre (EH8 8HG). No toilets on the walk itself
  • Parking: Broad Pavement Car Park (off Queen's Drive, next to Holyrood Palace). Parking charges apply. Free for blue badge holders
  • Road closures: Holyrood Park roads are closed every Saturday and Sunday. Local roads and car parks may be subject to closures. Please contact the Ranger Service or call 0131 652 8150 for more information
  • Dogs are not permitted except assistance dogs
