Dr David Munro, former Director of the Royal Scottish Geographical Society and currently researcher in residence at Drumlanrig Castle, has been exploring landscape all of his life. In addition to studying human features such as settlements, field systems and routeways etched into the physical landscape he has discovered other landscapes and associated place names that identify tales told in times past.
In this talk, he reveals examples from Kinross-shire and Dumfriesshire, drawing on fieldwork and a variety of historical sources. Following the talk join us in the Search Room and view original archive material.
