Inchcolm Abbey is suitable for:
- ceremonies
- photography
Tie the knot in the delightful setting of Inchcolm Abbey, on an island in the Firth of Forth. Originally a priory, Inchcolm became an abbey in 1235. It is now the best-preserved group of monastic buildings in Scotland. This tranquil location is within easy reach of Edinburgh, but with its seals and other wildlife feels like it’s a world away.
Refectory
Capacity: 100 people
Natural light floods the first floor dining hall, highlighting its arched ceiling and unique features. This bright, elegant space is ideal for larger wedding ceremonies.
Chapter House
Capacity: 20 people
This small meeting place is one of only three rooms in Scotland to have been built as a centralised octagonal structure. Dating from the 13th century, the chapter house is an atmospheric location for an intimate ceremony.
Dormitory
Capacity: 90 people
The arched ceiling of this long, narrow room gives it a sense of occasion that exceeds its original purpose as sleeping quarters. Located on the first floor of the abbey’s east range.
