Elgin Cathedral is suitable for:

Though now a magnificent ruin, the beauty of the ‘Lantern of the North’ still shines through. Elgin Cathedral dates from the 13th century and its many outstanding architectural features include a stunning octagonal chapter house. Say your vows in one of Scotland’s most beautiful medieval buildings, a truly romantic setting for wedding ceremonies.
Chapter House
Capacity: 80 people
Scotland’s finest octagonal chapter house is a truly memorable setting for your wedding. The meeting place of the cathedral clergy is a stunning piece of architecture dating from the 1200s. A single central column supports the intricately vaulted ceiling, while stone carvings portray a riot of beasts and faces.
Presbytery (open air)
Capacity: 100 people
Gather your guests beneath open skies within the walls of the presbytery, one of the most complete areas of the cathedral to survive. This highly detailed stone structure – with its exquisite window tracery and rose window remains – towers above the surrounding low-lying lands for all to admire.
Types of ceremony
Religious and humanist wedding ceremonies. Civil ceremonies by agreement with registrar.
