Prices and opening times

Following the Scottish Governments announcement, the cathedral will reopen on Friday 30 April (tickets on sale now). Find out more about our COVID response.

Admission

We have introduced limits on visitor numbers to help keep everyone safe, and you will not be able to visit without booking online in advance.

Book tickets now

Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Children under 5 go free, but they must have a ticket booked for them.

Donations are welcome.

What will be open during your visit

Due to social distancing and the overall safety of our visitors and staff, some areas of the castle will remain closed.

  • One way system round the main ground floor areas
  • All external areas will be open via paths
  • Chapter house (capacity restricted)

1 April to 31 March:
Daily except Sunday, 10am to 4pm

Closed for lunch daily from 12.30pm to 1.30pm.

It may also close for private services, if travelling specifically to see the site, please call the cathedral on 01786 823 388 in advance to check to avoid disappointment.

Adverse weather or other reasons beyond our control may cause a site to close at short notice.
