The Inventory of Historic Battlefields was created in 2011. This is a list of nationally important battlefields in Scotland that meet the criteria published in the Scottish Historic Environment Policy 2011.
In 2017, we asked for feedback on the inventory to guide changes required. It was also part of a wider review of our policies under the What's Your Heritage? banner.
This report is an analysis of the responses we received from a range of stakeholders. The results will underpin possible changes in our policy, guidance, and operational programmes on battlefields.
