The Planning Performance Report is a summary of our activity for the designation, management and protection of the historic environment within the Scottish Planning System.

This includes making decisions on the designation of listed buildings and scheduled monuments and providing advice on how Scotland’s heritage should be managed as part of planning decisions. This edition of the report assesses our performance in the planning system for the 2016-17 financial year. It follows the Scottish Government’s Planning Performance Framework Template.

2016-17 marked a successful year for HES. We have met all of our improvement measures or are progressing toward completing them during the 2017-18 financial year.

We have also provided a consistently high level of service, responding to 98.6% of the 867 development management consultations we received within target timescales. We also responded to 98.9% of the 2,940 listed building and conservation area consent consultations we received within target timescales.
