PastMap shows you information about historic sites and landscapes all over Scotland, brought together on maps spanning from 1843 to the modern day.

Historic sites available on PastMap include locations of battles, historic buildings, and places related to maritime history like shipwrecks.

 

You can zoom in on the interactive online map to find specific types of site in your area of interest. For example, you can activate different layers on the map to highlight all listed buildings or local authority sites and monuments.

Layers can also show the extent of, among other things:

  • scheduled monuments
  • conservation areas
  • Inventory battlefields
  • Inventory gardens and designed landscapes
