HES has published a six month Action Plan in response to the impact COVID-19 has had on its business and across Scotland’s wider historic environment sector.
The plan – which takes the place of the lead heritage body’s usual Annual Operating Plan (AOP) - sets out the priorities for the organisation while also supporting the country’s heritage sector during the current pandemic.
It is also designed to help maintain HES’s core activities, ensuring it maximises the resources available to ensure it keeps contributing to the delivery of its Corporate Plan; the Scottish Government’s National Performance Framework and the wellbeing of Scotland overall.
In developing this Action Plan, HES has identified key activities in relation to each of the five outcomes and accompanying key performance indicators (KPIs) outlined in its corporate plan.
Commenting on the Action Plan, HES Chief Executive Alex Paterson said:
“As a result of these unprecedented times, we have had to reconsider how we go about our business, focus on continuing to deliver essential functions while also supporting the sector during this extremely difficult period.
Despite the challenges we all face, we continue to work towards the vision and five outcomes set out in our Corporate Plan 2019 Onwards - Heritage for All.
“Under each of our corporate plan outcomes, we have outlined the impact of the current pandemic and identified actions covering what we are doing to address these. Some of these actions are short-term, while others will continue beyond the initial six-month period and will inform or longer term plans.”
