Holyrood Park Christmas Amble
Warm up this winter with a ranger-led walk to spot festive wildlife such as holly, ivy and swans-a-swimming!

Come along on a guided walk this Christmas to get warm and discover some folklore behind some of our favourite festive wildlife such as robins, holly and swans-a-swimming!
Good to know
- Meeting point: Broad Pavement Car Park, next to the entrance of the car park on the grass verge opposite the car park kiosk (Queens Drive, Holyrood Park, Edinburgh EH8 8AZ)
- Route: Volunteers’ Walk, Parade Ground, Hunter’s Bog, St. Margaret’s Loch. This may change. The route is wheelchair accessible although does involve rough tracks and slopes. Please contact us if you have any access requirements
- Grade: Easy
- Age: This walk may not be suitable for children under 8 years
- Bring: Warm/waterproof clothing and sturdy footwear with good grips. A snack and a drink
- Toilets: Toilets are available at the Holyrood Park Education Centre (EH8 8HG). No toilets on the walk itself
- Parking: Broad Pavement Car Park (off Queen's Drive, next to Holyrood Palace). Charges apply Mon-Fri, 8.30am to 5.30pm (except public holidays). Free for blue badge holders
- Road Closures: Holyrood Park roads are closed every Saturday and Sunday. Local roads and car parks may be subject to closures
- Disabled access: The route is wheelchair accessible although does involve rough tracks and slopes. Please contact us if you have any access requirements and we will do our best to adapt the walk accordingly
- Dogs: are not permitted except assistance dogs
