Poppy Project
This beautiful sea of poppies was created by school pupils from across the Borders. Through workshops led by our site staff, they transformed recycled plastic bottles into more than 3,000 beautiful poppies.
Spread throughout the abbey’s wildflower meadow, the poppies bring a vibrant splash of colour to the landscape in a stunning display of remembrance. While the meadow is entering its winter rest, this striking installation offers a poignant and memorable sight for visitors.
The abbey grounds were laid out by the Earl of Buchan in the 1700s and are also home to the Dryburgh Yew, one of Scotland’s oldest trees, making this a truly special place to explore and reflect.
Entry to the abbey is free for everyone on these dates for Remembrance Day, Saturday 7 to Monday 16 November.
