Visit a large stone circle with a raised edge, part of the rich archaeological landscape of Machrie Moor.

Although it looks like a stone circle with its ring of upright stones, Moss Farm Road Stone Circle is actually a burial cairn. It sits at the start of the farm road that runs through Machrie Moor, part of a fascinating prehistoric landscape consisting of stone circles, hut circles, standing stones and other cairns.

The cairn has been heavily disturbed over time and today its kerb consists of only seven standing stones and five that have fallen over.

Several upright stones in a grassy field with rolling hills and mountains in the background beneath a blue sky.
