Trace the footsteps of our prehistoric ancestors at this enigmatic site overlooking the magnificent Arran landscape.

Kilpatrick Dun contains the remains of several phases of occupation.

The Dun itself is a stone-walled, circular settlement, most probably of Iron Age date. Attached to this is a large enclosure from a later date.

There are plenty of other archaeological remains scattered around the site including hut-circles, cairns, and traces of fields which may have been tended during the Bronze Age.

Two large weathered stones standing upright on grassy terrain, surrounded by smaller rocks and tufts of grass. The background shows rolling hills and distant mountains under a clear blue sky.
Aerial view of a grassy landscape with a roughly oval-shaped enclosure outlined by low earthworks. The surrounding area is covered in green vegetation and patches of brown moorland.
