Explore the ruins of a Cistercian monastery of the 1200s, once home to a community of monks and lay brothers.

Culross Abbey is a beautiful site and well worth the visit. It’s situated on a steep slope, offering fine views of the surrounding area.

The Abbey was built in the 1200s and survived until the Reformation, when the abbey church became the parish church. Culross is said to have been the site of an early Christian community led by St Serf and of which St Kentigern (Mungo) was a member.
