Guided tours

Join Historic Scotland staff on a guided tour of this imposing 14th Century tower house, once home to descendants of King Robert the Bruce, visited by Robert Burns and sketched by Turner. Enjoy an external and internal tour of the building, culminating in spectacular views of the ‘Wee County’ and the Forth Valley beyond from the top of the Tower.

Dates: 19 July, 15 August and 19 September

Times: 10am, 11am, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm

Please arrive at the east side of Clackmannan Tower 10 minutes before your tour start time.

Important information

  • This tour is restricted to children 7 years and over. Under 7’s will not be admitted, this applies to both paid and Members tickets

  • No toilets at site - nearest public toilet/accessible toilet is in Morrison’s, Alloa

  • Nearest public parking is in Clackmannan and involves up to a 10-minute walk to the site 

  • Approach to site is over a field - strong footwear highly recommended

  • The tour has uneven flooring, steep stairs, low lintels and exposed heights and as such may not be suitable for this with mobility issues
