What's going on in the park

From time to time park roads and car parks are closed due to external events. The most up to date event information can be found on the organisers' website. 

Wednesday 30 October - Friday 1 November

Samhuinn Fire Festival - Festival celebrating changing of seasons and transition into winter.

  • There will be sound systems in place on Thursday 31 October.
  • Queen’s Drive closure, Horse Wynd to Duke’s Walk closed Thursday 31 October.
  • Broad Pavement car park closed from Wednesday 31 October to Friday 1 November - to be confirmed

Saturday 9 November

SANDS Starlight Walk - 6km walk around Holyrood Park that will be held in aid of Sands Baby Loss Charity.

  • Queen’s Drive, Galloping Glen section closure (Holyrood Gait to Holyrood Park Road).
  • No car park closure.

Saturday 23 November

Movember Run - 1.5km, 5km, 10km and half marathon charity run for Movember.

  • There will be sound systems in place.
  • Standard weekend road closures.
  • Broad Pavement car park closed from 6am.

Noise Control

We acknowledge the proximity of some of the event sites to local residences and endeavour to do everything possible to minimise disruption.

Should there be any noise issues with an event please contact the Environmental Health Team at The City of Edinburgh Council. During normal office hours please call 0131 608 1100 or email asknoise@edinburgh.gov.uk. If you are disturbed in the evening or at the weekend, call Licensing Standards Officers on 0131 200 2000.

Opening times

The High Road and Dunsapie Loch Car Park are open to vehicles from Tues to Thur, 9.30am to 3pm. A one-way system is in place for cyclists.

On Sat & Sun all roads are closed to vehicles during the day. Closures will commence from 8.15am to 9am. The roads will reopen between 5.45pm and 6.30pm.
