Blackness Strategic Tourism Infrastructure Development Plan

Since October 2022, a team led by Planning Solutions Consulting in partnership with Blue Sail, has been working with Falkirk Council and Historic Environment Scotland (HES) to develop a 5-Year Strategic Tourism Infrastructure Development Plan (STID) for the village of Blackness. 

Funded through VisitScotland’s Rural Tourism Infrastructure Fund (RTIF), STIDs are designed to address the pressures faced by communities due to significant increases in visitor numbers. The plan puts forward guidance and suggestions on the management of the site and can be used to inform any future decision-making and change management.
