
William II bodle
William III of England (1694-1702), bodle, 1695. The design consists of a flat sword and sceptre, with a crown above, and the inscription 'GVL. D.G .MAG. BR . FR. ET. HIB. REX'. (William by the grace of God King of Great Britain France and Ireland) .
The reverse shows a crowned thistle, with the inscription NEMO ME IMPVNE LACESSET, (no-one shall hurt me with impunity), followed by the date, 1695.
