Incised headstone
The curving lines below the cross-arms on this stone create a simple, flowing motif, almost reminiscent of a fountain or a spring emerging from the stem of the cross. This may be significant to the site where it was found in Kirkmadrine, Dumfries and Galloway, which is surrounded by a number of springs.
