Fire engine
Last used in 1929 to fight a fire at Glenlossie Distillery, this fire engine was pulled by a pair of horses. The engine was driven by steam from the boiler. Its firebox was set with rags, wood and coal – always ready to be lit. Coal was carried in a box slung under the vehicle, with a flask of paraffin beside it.
Made by Shand Mason and Company, the fire engine is on display at Dallas Dhu Distillery
