Cross slab fragment
Fragment of ring cross slab, with horse on back. Part of VIG004. The front face forms right arm of the cross with key pattern, the circular armpit and ring. The reverse face contains a vertical part of the slab frame. Facing left is a simple horse’s head, with almond shaped eye, pricked ear and rein. When associated with VIG004 it shows that the hooded man is a rider. Above the horse’s head is a coiled spiral. On display with other Pictish stones at St Vigeans Museum, Angus.
