Shoppers are in for a treat this season as Stirling Castle’s Clan and Craft gift shop is transformed into a winter wonderland.
Carrying a unique collection of festive favours, the Stirling Castle Christmas Shop will feature everything from affordable stocking fillers to artisan spiced teas, with interactive elements in place to make the shopping experience fun for all the family.
The shop will showcase a range of quality goods from local suppliers and well-known Scottish brands, including elegant wool shawls, handcrafted accessories and quirky decorations. The team behind the Christmas shop conversion have decked the halls with more than bells and holly, installing a display showing Santa’s home complete with reindeer stable and flickering fire. Families will even have the opportunity to meet the man himself on the Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th December.
Historic Environment Scotland’s Head of Retail, Natasha Troitino, said: “We love transforming the Stirling Castle shop for the festive season and this year we’re particularly proud. For 2016 we’ve got lots of new goodies on display and some excellent festive gift ideas for shopping inspiration.
Whilst parents browse, kids can entertain themselves in our dress up area, with costumes ranging from respected royalty to Santa’s little helpers. Parents can join in too as we’ll have selfie props to hand for those all-important Christmas card shots, and we’d love to see people share their results on the Stirling Castle Facebook page or on Twitter.”
The Stirling Castle Christmas Shop will host several special events throughout December, including late opening for the castle’s popular Christmas Fayre on Tuesday 6th December and the return of last year’s specialist giftwrapping service, as well as special guest appearances from Santa on the 10th and 11th December.
The shop is located on Stirling Castle esplanade and is free to visit. Open daily from 9.30am until 5pm, shoppers can browse for up to two hours with free parking.
Further information about the Stirling Castle Christmas shop and events can be found on the Stirling Castle website. For more information and to view this year’s Historic Environment Scotland Christmas collection, visit our online shop.
