Guidance on Conservation Areas

Overview

This interim document on the designation of Conservation Areas and Conservation Area Consent provides

detailed guidance on the application of the Historic Environment Policy for Scotland (HEPS) to Conservation Areas.

It sets out the principles we recommend are followed in the Scottish planning system. 

This document should be read alongside HEPS and our Managing Change Guidance Notes series.
