Refurbishment Case Study 22
Overview
This case study describes works to a small vernacular building in a rural location close to the town of Braemar. The building had been unoccupied since the 1930s, and due to a modern plantation of Douglas fir and Spruce, had been largely hidden. A change of ownership in recent years resulted in a plan to refurbish the cottage for holiday accommodation. During this process the almost unique nature of its survival and the importance of the building was recognised.
