Beta Help us improve: share your feedback on our new website.

Seeing how our grants have been awarded helps researchers, applicants and members of the public understand how funding is distributed and the types of projects we support. It can also highlight trends over time and reveal potential gaps in funding.

Funding transparency

We are committed to transparency in how we award and manage funding.

Our grants data is published through the 360Giving initiative, alongside data from many other UK funding bodies. This allows anyone to explore, compare and reuse funding information.

Updates to our data

We update our funding data on the 360Giving website once a year, in the summer. This takes place at the same time as the publication of our Annual Grant Funding Report, which provides additional detail and analysis.

Using this data

This work is licensed under the Open Government Licence for public sector information. This means the data is free to use and share for any purpose, provided it is attributed to Historic Environment Scotland.

Exploring grant data

360Giving is also developing tools to help funders and fundraisers make better use of grant data. You can see examples on 360Giving’s GrantNav website.
