ContentsAcknowledging your grant funding
We’re proud to support your project and ask that our funding is acknowledged in any publicity or communications you produce. Sharing our support helps celebrate your work, increases its reach, and shows how grant funding makes a difference.
You can acknowledge our support by using our logo, including funding information in press activity, and mentioning us on your social media channels.
If you have any questions or would like advice, our communications team is happy to help at communications@hes.scot.
Using our logo
Using our logo is a simple and effective way to acknowledge our support. Please include it where appropriate on:
Signs and construction boards visible in public areas during your project
Your website and blog
Any mobile or tablet apps
Promotional materials and publications, including leaflets, brochures, newsletters, posters, reports, guidebooks and digital materials
Event signage linked to our funding, such as launch events, programmes and invitations
Press and media
We encourage you to share news about your project with the media — it’s a great way to raise awareness and celebrate your achievements.
Please ensure our grant funding is acknowledged in any media communications relating to your project. If you need support announcing your grant award or sharing updates with media, our team can provide a template that you can adapt to suit your project.
A press release can be issued once the embargo date in your award letter has passed, or after we have announced the funding. Please let our communications team know at least a month in advance when you plan to issue a release.
If you’d like help tailoring your press release, including adding a quote from us, or if you want to keep us informed about press activity, contact communications@hes.scot.
Photo calls and media invites
Inviting the media to an event or organising a photo call can be an excellent way to highlight your project. Please invite a representative from our organisation to attend any photo opportunities.
If you are arranging photography that will be shared with the media, let our communications team know in advance at communications@hes.scot.
Social media
Events
If you're hosting an event to launch your project, celebrate your funding, or showcase completed work, please let us know so we can arrange for a representative to attend.
If funders will be speaking at the event, please offer us a speaking opportunity. Where your funding is mentioned in speeches, our grant support should be acknowledged.
Please display our logo at events, including on brochures, invitations, pop‑ups and banners. Event details can be shared with our communications team at communications@hes.scot.
Images and video
Images and video are a great way to track the progress of your project, and we love seeing how your work develops. With the correct permissions, we're keen to keep these on record and may use them to help share and celebrate the impact of our grant funding.
In some cases, it may also be possible for one of our staff photographers to visit and document the project.
We welcome images throughout the life of your project, including:
Before and after images
Images taken during works
People engaging with the project, building or event
People taking part in training and community events
To get in touch to find out how we can help or to send us photos for our records, please email images@hes.scot.
