Zoom in on this interactive online map to locate Scotland’s archaeological and historic sites.
PastMap lets you view information about the archaeology, architecture and landscapes of Scotland from multiple sources on one map. It is managed by Historic Environment Scotland (HES) along with partners from local government and archaeological curators and holds data from a growing number of other sources.
Historic Environment Scotland data, including the National Record of the Historic Environment (NHRE), listed buildings, scheduled monuments and other designations are available, as well as the local authority Historic Environment Records (HERs).
Layers can be displayed on Ordnance Survey mapping, aerial photography or historic mapping. Each data point is linked to the relevant organisation and provides direct access to the specific data set.
