Stories of Urban Scotland

What do skaters in Livingston, after-school club members in Arbroath, medieval fans in Tain and gardeners in Granton have in common? They are among 60 community groups who took part in our Scotland’s Urban Past (SUP) programme.

The five year National Lottery Heritage Funded programme asked communities across the country to record, research, celebrate and share the places that matter the most to them. SUP has now come to an end but its legacy lives on in this special publication.

‘Past Forward – Stories of Urban Scotland’ tells you all about the project and is packed full of ideas to help you, friends, family, workmates or club members explore the history and heritage of your place.

Download the book or explore our ‘How To’ guides to get started on your own community group project.
