Specialist rope contractors are carrying out de-vegetation and light hand scaling works to the northern external rock face at Dumbarton Castle.
The de-vegetation works will greater expose the external rock face at the site which is run by Historic Environment Scotland and is scheduled as a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The scaling works are part of routine maintenance to help mitigate the effects that vegetation growth, as well as ongoing effects of climate change, may have on the rock face.
