Access

Parking

There is a level gravel car park 20m from the museum.

Approach to site

The site is 50m from the car park or village main street along a level but uneven part tarmac lane.

Visitor centre

The visitor centre has a single step.

The exhibition features a short film. There is no induction loop.

Monument

All buildings are accessed from a central courtyard, which has a mainly gravel surface with some brick paths. Most buildings have a single step.

Toilets

Nearest adapted toilet is about 20 miles away, on Main Street, Leadhills.

Dogs

Assistance dogs are permitted at all our sites and within roofed areas.  

Visitors' dogs are allowed at Biggar Gasworks Museum, but are not permitted in roofed areas. 

Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times and not left unattended at any time. Owners must pick up after their dogs.
