Inform Friday: An Introduction to Listed Building Consent and the Planning System

Friday 9 December 2022

Online

What are listed buildings and conservation areas?

How do you find out if a building is listed, and what permissions do you need to make changes to these buildings?

In this Inform Friday session, our host Lila Angelaka will be joined by Steven Robb, from Historic Environment Scotland’s (HES) Planning, Consents and Advice team, to talk about Historic Environment Scotland’s role in the planning system.

Steven and Lila will look at the process of consent for historic buildings, such as listed building consent. They will also touch on conservation area consent and planning permission. They will then look at the sort of applications that HES comments on, from extensions and replacement windows to energy efficiency measures.

You’ll have a chance to ask Lila and Steven your questions. Please note our speakers won't be able to feedback on any specific planning applications.
