This spring holiday we are excited to welcome Tinkertown to the Engine Shed, in collaboration with the City of Play. Join us to construct a scrap timber town right outside the Engine Shed, inspired by buildings found across Scotland.

Tinkertown will provide the opportunity for everyone, including young people and families to foster their sense of place-making through play. This is a free event for children and families to design, build and play as they like with hammers, saws and pallets!

On Wednesday 15, Thursday 16 and Friday 17 April, Tinkertown will be open to everyone.

No prior registration is required from Wednesday - Friday, though numbers may be limited to avoid overcrowding.

Bring your learning group

As well as having three full days for families to get involved, on Monday 13 and Tuesday 14 April, we’re inviting school-holiday clubs, Beavers, Brownies or other local groups to join in the fun. To bring your group along on these dates, arrange with us in advance by contacting martin.conlon@hes.scot.
