An extremely rare opportunity to see inside Bonnie Prince Charlie’s residence in 1746. Never before open to the public on such a scale.
Bannockburn House was built in the late 17th Century, and for the History Live weekend we are offering you the chance to see inside this unique property.
In 1746, before the Battle of Falkirk, it was the 2nd Baronet who entertained Charles Edward Stuart in Bannockburn House, where he met the Baronet's niece, Clementina Walkinshaw, who would later become his lover and mother of his child.
Come and enjoy a costumed tour of this sleeping beauty of a mansion.
Both adult and children-led tours will take you through rooms that have changed little in the past centuries.
Tours will last approx 20 mins.
Refreshments will be available.
Parking is available in nearby Corbie Wood from where a regular shuttle bus will operate. The site has restricted access, so no public parking will be available at the house itself.
