The defining battle of 1917 was Passchendaele, the long battle for the high ground dominating the town of Ypres.

Characterised by appalling muddy and wet conditions, success was measured in yards. Despite all this, morale held, a remarkable tribute to the 'esprit de corps' of the British Army.

We bring to life the experience of the Highland soldier in this year of endurance.
